Forest School is a much-loved part of school life here, enjoyed by children from Nursery right through the Prep School.
Set within a our own woodland, it offers endless opportunities for adventure, discovery and creativity. Children enjoy activities such as building fires, cooking outdoors and making hot chocolate, as well as exploring bug hotels, climbing trees and playing in the mud kitchen. They can dig, build dens, camp and swing through the trees on the rope swing, developing confidence, resilience and teamwork along the way.
Led by our dedicated Forest School teacher, each session is carefully planned to inspire curiosity, independence and a lifelong love of the outdoors.
Forest School inspires curious minds by encouraging children to explore, discover and learn through magical outdoor experiences.
We believe that time spent outside supports wellbeing and encourages creativity. It helps children build important social and problem-solving skills in a calm and engaging environment. Complementing our Forest School, our small holding gives children daily opportunities to care for and learn about animals, helping to foster compassion, responsibility and respect for nature.
With goats, chickens, birds and, of course, numerous much-loved school dogs, the children enjoy meaningful connections with animals that enrich their learning and bring great joy to school.
The best way to experience what life is like at Brighton College Prep Handcross is to join us at an Open Morning, where you will have the chance to talk to pupils and teachers about what makes our school such a special place, and to ask any questions you might have.
We also offer Mini Owls Toddler Club for families interested in joining our Nursery or Reception classes. Sessions are held weekly in our Nursery during term time and provide the ideal opportunity for parents and children to explore our school. Please email registrar@brightoncollegeprephandcross.co.uk if you are interested in joining.
